Underwater Photography Tips As Easy As 1-2-3 Digital cameras in an underwater housing will capture most of what you see on your explorations underwater. Cameras may be rented in Grand Cayman for this purpose and the photos will be downloaded onto a CD for you to take home. 1 - Composition of the items you are photographing is very important. Put the main subject in the center of the lens viewer, and do your best to have natural lighting on either the left or right. 2 - Suspended particles in the water can cause the photo to be blurred. To avoid this get close to your subject and avoid touching the sand with your fins, so that you don't stir up sand into the photo. 3 - Always use the camera's flash to capture all the colors. Without it everything will tend to be only blue.

Monte, Irene, Jessica, and Alec

Our 10 year old son Alec, who loves movies, especially the Disney productions of Pirates of the Caribbean, was facinated when we showed him the hull of an old shipwreck at 35 feet, at the Eden Rock dive site. It had been uncovered due to the waves of Ivan. Irene pointed out a Cleaner Shrimp hiding in the wreckage to Alec, and later explained to him that it is now a cleaning station for fish. After that experience Alec determined that it was in fact an old pirate shipwreck, and who are we to correct a ten year old. Afterall they know more than the parents, right?
