In addition to our diving and whale-watching activities, we can arrange guided tours and hiking excursions to any site in Dominica, from Ti-Tou Gorge to the Boiling Lake to breathtaking waterfalls set deep in the rainforest.

EAST CARIB DIVE runs its centre from the bay at Salisbury, centrally positioned on the west coast of Dominica, where we are located directly on the beach. The dive locations are easily accessible both to the north and south of the island after a boat ride of between 5 to 40 minutes. Dive sites include Toucarie Bay in the north, Maggy's Point, Barry's Dream, Rodney's Rock, the Canefield shipwreck and others in the centre of the island and Soufriere and Scotts Head in the south.

The diving has been rated as some of the best. The above water terrain continues below and creates interesting and versatile sites with steep walls, pinnacles, caves and swimthroughs. The coral reefs are extremely healthy, unspoiled and abundant with life and you can be sure every dive is a good one! We could make a huge list of all the residents you can expect to meet - a few of the favorites are frogfish, batfish, sea-horses, octopus, flying gurnard, an abundance of every eel you can imagine, cowfish, giant porcupinefish, pipefish, trumpetfish, spotted drums, blennys, parrotfish, angelfish, huge schools of glassy sweepers, barracuda, stingrays, electric rays, turtles..........you get the picture and it gets even more amazing at night! SCUBA courses are available from Open Water to Divemaster and Specialties. We also have many shallow pristine snorkeling sites (introduction courses are available). Play in the warm bubbling waters of "Champagne", a sub-aquatic hot spring or combine snorkeling with kayaking. Sea Kayaks are a lot of fun, great exercise and a perfect way to explore the shoreline.

Our Main Dive Center is located on Pasong Tamo, Makati, with Dive Shops on Park Square at the Ayala Commercial Center, Makati, and in Cebu. We own and operate the Aquaventure Reef Club, a 20-room resort in Anilao, Batangas. In addition, we operate resort diving concessions at Amanpulo on Pamalican Island, Northern Palawan, and at the Pearl Farm Resort on Samal Island, Davao City.

The Underwater preserve system was created in 1980 through legislation supported and largely drafted by Michigan sport divers. Since then, divers have ensured that their sport will remain a high-quality activity with stiffening of penalties in 1988.

Since then, Big Blue has produced several video tapes including a study of mating squid in Monterey Bay and a travelogue on Cocos Island in Costa Rica. Big Blue stock footage has also been featured in the TV Man Union Inc production "Gift from the Earth - Monterey Bay, Paradise of the Sea." This 30 minute documentary was made for the Tokyo Broadcasting System and aired in the fall of 1995. Fair Warning: these clips are high-quality MPEG system streams captured using an Optibase encoder card. They average about 20 seconds in length and 3 megabytes in size. However, we think they are well worth the wait. Big Blue will be making some shorter, lower-quality clips available soon which should not exceed 1 megabyte each.
