This fine old mansion house was built circa 1840. as the original home of the Islands Salt overseer and has since served as the British Governors guest house and also, the American Consulate. The Hotel has been featured in many articles written about the Caribbean and was voted in December 1998 by Caribbean Travel & Life magazine as one of their Top 10 small hotels. All eight of the Hotel’s en-suite Bedrooms have been tastefully refurbished and are individually furnished with genuine antiques in keeping with the Hotel's unique history as the first Hotel in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
