The Turks Head Hotel is a beautifully restored traditional Caribbean Inn situated
on a bay on the West Coast of the unspoiled island of Grand Turk. This fine old
mansion house was built circa 1840. as the original home of the Islands Salt
overseer and has since served as the British Governors guest house and also,
the American Consulate. The Hotel has been featured in many articles written
about the Caribbean and was voted in December 1998 by Caribbean Travel &
Life magazine as one of their Top 10 small
hotels.
All eight of the Hotel’s en-suite Bedrooms have been tastefully refurbished and are
individually furnished with genuine antiques in keeping with the Hotel's unique
history as the first Hotel in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Many of the rooms
have a private balcony with a sea view or a private garden patio and all
Bedrooms feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-bar service, tea &
coffee making facilities, hair dryers, Cable TV and Telephones. The Hotel also
features a beautiful walled Caribbean garden, a lush green tree shaded area
with Palms, Flame Cordia Trees, bougainvillea, and even our very own Turks Head
cactus.
Located on the idyllic, peaceful and tree-shaded Front Street, it is barely 50 feet
from a beautiful sandy beach and yet within easy walking distance of virtually
all of the islands dive operations and the town center. It is ideally situated
for Guests to take advantage of the Islands beautiful beaches, the snorkeling,
the famous Scuba Diving on Grand Turk’s Wall, Golf at the British Governors
private golf course, to which guests of the Hotel have access, as well as many
other activities.
Having recently come into new ownership, the hotel has undergone an extensive
refurbishment and modernization of all of its facilities and benefits from an
ongoing tender loving care
