I do not know much about specific numbers or data, as such, but I do know that we, the developed human race, are destroying the ecosphere and the ecosphere's components, such as whales, ozone, oceans, needed lands and resources, environmental resources, and other vital components of the life-systems on the planet Earth, GAIA, at a rate too fast for natural restoration. At the same time, in less-developed nations throughout the world the human birthrate far exceeds the carrying capacity of the land and resources, even while native fauna and flora are being extinctionalized by the ever expanding human race...maybe a type of "devolution." I could go on about these issues, but probably anyone reading this could also present many similar examples about the need for an environmental consciousness if the human race, as such, is to continue to flourish much longer. I have been doing searches & surfing the WEB for infomation on a wreck that has become quite famous as a recreational dive site here in Guysborough County,Nova Scotia. The vessel in Question was called the FINCHELY, she went down on Sept.29,1884 and now rests at the bottom of Country Harbour, Guysborough Co. N.S. The wreck sits in 97 ft. of water. It is 270 ft long and was 1265 tonnes when regestered. A natural gas pipeline is due to be laid from Sable Island to the mainland of Nova Scotia that will pass very close to the site of the FINCHELY. If anyone out there knows of a URL with info on the FINCHELY please forward it along via the above Email address.02/02/97
